does having the “attention aware features setting” enabled on the iPhone X lower the overall battery life as it basically enables the FaceID camera to be enabled at all times right? Otherwise how would the iPhone know if you are looking at the screen when reading something in order to dim the screen when you are looking away?

Based on screen timeout. That's how Samsung does it. When screen about to time out it checks. So put your screen timeout to higher value will have lesser drain

That’s what I thought, Thanks. I’ll disable the feature entirely.

Why disable? I use all the time with no significant battery use. It only activates camera when screen about to go dim (not when you're using screen)

It is a great feature on paper but it sounds to me like it might cause too much unnecessary battery drain as I have screen lock set to 1 Minute.

I’m also debating whether I should disable the “Bedtime” feature in the clock app which inserts Sleep analysis data into the health app every night, I had the Bedtime feature enabled for 2 years, do you think it causes battery drain at all or should I just keep it enabled?

Anyone else wants to chime in on this feature and perhaps the negative effect it can have on overall battery life?

Haven’t noticed any significant battery drain because of this feature. If you want to save battery use a dark wallpaper and smart invert or even black and white filter. That’s proven to work and save significant battery, but useful if you’re running low.

Why don't you just try it yourself for a couple of days and see how it affects your battery? Do you make it to the end of the day on a charge with it on? If not, turn it off and check the next day.

Everyone gets different battery life. If you live too far away from a cell tower, attention aware is the least of your problems. If you constantly watch videos, bye bye battery.

Are you actually having battery issues or are you just looking for things to be nervous about? That seems to be everyone's favorite hobby here in Negative Nancyville.

FYI, attention aware is designed to, among other things, dim the screen when you're not looking at the phone. So who's to say you might actually lose some battery life by turning it off?
