Attention Hard Drive Gurus

I recently upgraded my hard drive in my macbook pro.
I forgot to partition the hard drive with GUID.

I have an external hard drive that can hold all of my data, programs, etc...

What is the easiest way to reformat my macbook pro hard drive and install leopard
then bring my computer's programs, apps, documents, etc... back without losing much?

I wish this could be done but I don't think so. You may just have to make a backup and hope that there is an easy way to migrate yod backup into leopard. That's what I'm doing right now

what if I were to:

1. Carbon Copy Clone my hard drive to a .sparseimage DMG onto my external drive

How do I reformat my laptop drive and then recover from that dmg created by CCC that exists on my external hard drive?

have a little patience...

is the external HD firewire?

you can do the image thing no problem. Not sure what you're so anxious about...

make a copy of everything onto the external, then use migration assistant once you've got leopard going.
