My wife's phone was having trouble with the proximity sensor. We found out it was the old 3gs case she was using.

She would pull the phone away from her face and the display would not come back on. She could not end calls.

The case http://www.senacases.com/apple/iphone-4-cases/walletskin/ really looks like it would not have been the problem but the iPhone 4 has been redesigned from the ground up and the proximity sensor is different.

Sena is redesigning their case for the iPhone4.

If you having trouble, try it without a case.
