Atuvos Air Tag

Anyone running the Atuvos air tag? Looks like a pretty good deal on Amazon for 4. It does not have MFi, but works with the find my network.

Anyone have any experience with these brand products specifically?

If the items I am looking to track are fairly large (backpack, bike, babies, etc.) … I shouldn’t really need the MFi chip, correct ??

I don't have these exact third party tags, but experience with many others.

The Good: as you mentioned, these work natively with FindMy, no other app required. Additionally, they are typically much easier to remove or disable the speaker if you want to stash one in your car. And of course the cost.

Negatives: Typically build quality isn't great, easier to accidentally reset due to exposed button, no precision finding*, and I've found -some- third party tags do not update as frequently.

But for $5 a pop you cant really go wrong.

*Not necessarily a negative depending on your use case. Especially if you don't want a potential thief finding your hidden tag after they've stolen your car.
