The New 2022 model runs so hot it actually can burn your finger. This is my cooling solution. Barely gets warm now. Additional since it no longer throttles gaming seems smoother.

The issue was the bottom of unit was also getting really hot and since the CPU is located on the bottom both have to be cooled. Not sure how Apple expects people to game on this thing with zero cooling. I don’t think my unit is defective. Others have also stated that there’s get hot as well, especially during gaming. A part of me thinks I should have kept the 2021 model for $99.

This is why it feels hot, heat sink is in the top of the case.

Not had any issues myself.

I use my latest Apple TV for an average of 10+ hours per day and I have never had any issues. The remote has disconnected a few times but I just reset and it connects again.

Mine is used hour upon hour every single day doing various things apart from gaming. And never a single issue regarding heat.

Sorry, don't buy that it gets that hot it can burn your finger.

Not saying it won't get toasty, but there is no way on earth it will burn your finger unless there is a serious fault.

Yep. It was a ridiculous thing to post. Were it truly that hot the device would melt before too long.
