Question for anyone who has their hands on the new ATV: What kind of audio is the device putting out?
The old ATV resampled all audio to 16 bit/48 kHz no matter its actual bit-depth/sample rate. That's not going to fly with Apple Music's new "lossless" and "hi-res" music tiers. The ATV would essentially be resampling everything from the lossless tiers, defeating the entire purpose.
Although we don't have Apple Music's new lossless tiers, you should be able to see whether the ATV is outputting audio at its source's actual bit-depth/sample rate. (Apple Music's current lossy catalog should play back at 16/44.)
