I’m at my wits end and this issue has become worse recently.

Nearly every time I exit an app (Netflix, Hulu, etc) to look at something or run another app, when I go back into the original app the app provides its own “cannot play this content” or similar error. I must restart the ATV every time for it to reconnect.

Obviously a lot of variables here but nothing in the environment has changed (Ubiquiti Wi-Fi remains the same and same device FW versions, ATV 4K is hard wired to switch, etc).

Quite annoying and wondering if anyone else is seeing an uptick in this as well.

Sound odd, but it worked for me once. Open 10h stream on YouTube of nothing, give it 1-3 minutes and then quit and restart. Point is that it could (or will) reload cache and memory, so if the problem was there it might be helpful

Have you tired just quitting the apps causing the problem then reloading them? Not sure if that would work, but if so, much quicker than restarting.

I have noticed increased problems on one of my ATV4K1s that leads to restarting at least once a day now.

Not sure if it is bugs in the latest tvOS, or if there might be HW issues, but it is annoying. I bet it is just tvOS bugs.

Yep, I always try force closing apps first. Never works.

It’s interesting because if it happens on Netflix, I’ll say “ok I’ll launch Hulu to watch somethin, but then Hulu won’t play anything either. Same for other apps. Whatever happens just totally borks the entire system.

As of late, any app that I say pause a program in and put the system to sleep or say stay within an app when I put it to sleep, it basically comes back with "Oops, something went wrong" or "No internet connection" when I awaken the device. Started recently, so definitely after the latest TVOS push. Happens basically with any app, so I'm guessing something with the TVOS is the culprit.

Not fatal by any means, just means I can't return to a program in-progress within an app after sleep or return to an app that was open at the time when I put the system to sleep. In other words, it works perfectly fine when launching the app from the main screen, just requires you to restart the app if you happen to have been in said app when you put the system to sleep.

Not going to mess with my device as it will likely fix itself during the next TVOS push. One thing you can count on... endless TVOS pushes with all the new devices being added to the Apple line.

So my issue may not be entirely the same issue as yours as you seem to suggest that launching the apps anew seems to fail unless you restart the device. I haven't restarted my device since the last TVOS push... well there power outage recently, but that's not me restarting the device, that's the electrical supply doing it for me.
