Lately, it seems that my Apple TV no longer wakes my Mac when I'm trying to tap in to the reservoir of media I have residing on it. Did a recent software update reset some setting whereby an incoming ping on my local network will wake the machine from sleep mode? I poked around the settings of both the ATV and the Mac and I could find nothing. I saw an option in the energy saver panel to uncheck the "put hard disks to sleep when possible" but that didn't work. Hauling my but upstairs whenever I want to use the ATV isn't the end of the world, but once one gets used to a convenience, it's hard to loose it.

On your Mac, is System Settings > Energy Saver > Wake for network access ENABLED?

It is.
What's interesting: I just initiated a screen share with my MBA and the iMac woke up immediately (and subsequently appearing as available on the ATV). I guess that's a solution to keep me from getting off my ass and waking the iMac up manually— but it's more about the principle of the thing rather than my laziness! Peculiar.
