4K 2nd gen. Lately it’s been pausing as if someone pressed the pause button, but nobody is near the remote. I press play and everything is fine. I think this roughly coincides with TVOS 16.

When I search for this problem, all of the hits are about buffering or freezing issues, that’s not what’s happening here.

Anyone else experiencing this?

find your regular TV remote, Mine has slipped into the couch before, and I would occasionally hit it by moving on on the couch (it's bluetooth)

I've been seeing all kinds of glitchy behaviour with my aTV recently. I think I have a 2nd gen or 3rd gen.
At around midnight it would either kick out of a app, and or kick out of it and shutdown.
Last used app would not be onscreen after starting up again.
Lots of random kicking out of app asking for apple login (in the middle of viewing something)
Login prompt would not go away after several clicks....

Anyone find a fix for this? I’ve been having the same issue. I factory reset and even replaced the remote but it still randomly pauses.

Check your HomeKit app. I have a HomeKit scene that includes my AppleTV. It pauses my AppleTV. If you find your AppleTV in one of your scenes or automations and you don't want it there, remove it from that scene.

Thanks for the suggestion. I checked and don’t have it included in any automations or scenes.
