Yes, this is an old unit but I still use it and it works fine. I wonder if SSD would speed up things for me. If so, which SSD I would need to buy? Do I need an adapter? You can buy a 128gb SSD for $30 if you look around. Just bought one 🙂 Any useful input is appreciated. Thanks.

P.S. I am going for the performance increase. The SSD would make things snappier, right?

SSDs do make them a bit more peppy. A good solution would be to get a mSATA card and a 2.5" PATA adapter for it.

You sound like the speed won't be dramatic. Hmmm now I am not sure if I want to do the upgrade. I just put and SSD to my wife's 2008 white Macbook and it got A LOT faster. I guess not the case with the ATV1. Maybe the adapter cuts the speed?

OK thanks. Not worth the cost and labor. Will keep using the way it is. I was excited about this upgrade because the 2008 Macbook got at least two years younger🙂
