I've only had my ATV2 a day and I've found a variety of issues (other post). But, it'll be primarily used for music playback. I went with the ATV2 for the remote control and display capabilities. In fact, I tried Roku first, but it wouldn't work with my iTunes libraries so back it went.

Anyway, most of my library is 320kbps or greater (or wav/aiff). I know the tracks are flawless because I DJ with a lot of them.

I know my wireless router is good, insofar as it works great for streaming anything I might want to with my ps3 (though the ps3 sucks for music streaming and I don't like to hear the fan while playing music). It's the one that comes with FIOS service.

So that is why I don't understand I hear those awful jarring digital hiccups, or short bursts of noise, during music playback now and then. As a perfectionist and audiophile of sorts, this drives me absolutely crazy.

Would the update that's failing to work fix it?
