There's about 4,000+ songs from my collection in iTunes that do not show when I try to shuffle the entire library on ATV. They do not have DRM, nor did most of them come from the Apple store/Amazon/etc. If they play on my computer's iTunes, shouldn't they be recognized by ATV2?

My ATV2 is topping off at 12499 tunes, while I've got 16866 in the total library, and yes, I like to shuffle the whole darn thing.

Make this the 3rd major problem I've had. 14 days to return.. but where's the competition?

See the Tech Specs for the ATV2 here

There's a section titled Audio Formats supported.

It's possible that some of your files fall outside of those formats.

It's also possible that some of the files are missing (or have been moved since they were added to the iTunes library).

See if you can identify some of the missing tracks, then right click them in iTunes and select "Get Info". See if there is anything going on with the bit rate, file type or file location.
