I have a couple of ATV 3's. Currently, my itunes library (music and vids) are on my iMac.
I've been thinking of moving them to a network (home) server of some kind.
I tried synology's Nas with itunes server, and while that did work for letting the iMac access stuff, the ATV's could not. * (I believe ATV4 has an app that can do it, but that's not in the cards for now).
My current plan is setting up iTunes on a media pc running Windows 7 and just using home sharing from there. The big downside there, is while music will be fine, the menus to look at videos thru home sharing are rather poor, with little organization.
Does anyone have any thoughts on a better option? A big factor is I want to Pull from the apple TV...not push from a device...if i have to, for example, remote into the media pc to start playing...or route thru an ios device to airplay, that would defeat a lot of the point of this idea.
