Now that ATV4 has been released what's happening with ATV3? We used to get new channels now and then; will we still get those?

A 3yr old product, with a 4yr old cpu in it. Its kind of ancient in tech terms.
On the other hand, Apple is still offering new ones for sale. So at least basic maintenance support should continue.
