ATV3 No Longer Responding

Hi;

Switched on my ATV3 the other day and it no longer responds. The menu / apps are shown on the display as normal and the power light is on. When I click on the remote nothing happens on the screen but the power light flashes 3 or 4 times?
Tried the remote on another ATV and it works OK.

Do I need to reset my ATV3 and if so how do I do that?

a) pull the power cord
b) for full reset - connect it to iTunes with USB cord and restore the OS.
