ATV4 4:3 progs borders but not iPad Pro.

I bought a collection of programmes on iTunes but my ATV4 displays them at 4:3 on my widescreen TV but they fill the screen when viewed in landscape mode on my iPad pro.
What do they not fill the screen on my TV?

The iPad pro's aspect ratio is 4:3. Your TV is probably 16:9 if it is a widescreen 1080p TV.
