ATV4 vs. ATV3 Commercials

I've recently realized that on certain apps, if I watch on my Apple TV4 there will be commercials, but when I switch and watch the same show on my ATV3, there's no commercials. I've noticed this on FXNow among others. Anyone else notice that? Why would that be?
 
That would not have anything to do with the model of Apple TV. That would be what ever company is providing the streaming content for the FX Now app.
