Currently we have two ATV3s located in a central rack in a closet, outputting to two different rooms. They basically rely on URC/IR extenders to get the signal to them and they are not within bluetooth range. With the ATV4 using bluetooth for its remote, does that basically make ATV4 a no-go for me? Has anyone discovered a workaround?

thx

Hey ... I have the same setup (URC remotes and a A/V rack located in my basement). I haven't tested the Bluetooth distance, but I believe the ATV4 supports IR commands as well, so you will lose the trackpad and Siri, but could still navigate the menus, etc.

Thx. Sounds like not worth the upgrade then
