I am likely to get an ATV4K for my main viewing area in my home. I am currently running my system (4K TV, Receiver, Roku Ultimate, and 4K Disc Player) with an Harmony Elite. The Elite remote is generally used, but I do use the app on my iPhone. Everything works very well together with either the remote or the app

What is anyone's experience using the Harmony Elite with the ATV4K? Does it connect via Bluetooth or IP? Or (hopefully not) IR?

Any and all inputs are greatly appreciated.

I didn't know about this! I need to set this up and see how it goes. I'd love to be able to actually put it to sleep when I change Activities.

I added the beta profile to my Harmony Elite last night. It connected quite easily and then was able to double-tap the home button in order to get to the app switcher. That was a nice addition. I just wish it had a microphone on it so I didn't still need the aTV remote to do voice searches. But that's a big of a big ask.

I'm still thrilled with the Harmony Elite. Just wish it hadn't been so expensive. But at least it allows me to keep all of my components out of site without having to hook up my own IR repeater.

Agreed. The Elite is great and the Beta profile makes it even better.

Alexa has a decent Harmony skill and lets you say stuff like “Alexa, turn on Apple TV", "Alexa, pause", “Alexa, volume up 20%". I have HomePods and Siri is great with Apple Music but for me Alexa is more versatile with home automation.

Thanks guys. I just ordered an ATV4K. I'll let you know what I think of it and the Elite when it comes in.

I got the ATV4K set up tonight. I used the link above to use the beta Bluetooth option for the Elite. Using the Elite is straight forward and works as expected. The only problem was with creating/adding too folders. I couldn’t find a way with the remote to put an app on top of another to create a folder or put something in a folder. I will try tomorrow to see how the Harmony App works.
