ATV4K - OPTOMA projector

My atv4k connected to optoma uhd55 4k projector. Atv set to 4K SDR 60, with Match content (MC) On.

Issue, any hdr content has that plays has blown highlights. I disabled MC but still the same. I changed to 1080p sdr and then the highlights are gone.
Is it the projector not able to display hdr or ATV? Updated to tvos 18.

from page 33 of the manual (link below), looks like you may need to turn on "display -> image settings -> HDR/HLG" in the menu on the projector.
I have to manually enable HDR per port on my LG, it is disabled by default, not sure what the default of that projector is.
