Audacity and "what you hear"

I have just downloaded Audacity and hope to record "what you hear" what is playing on the laptop.
I do this on my PC but I cannot find a way of activating the Mac to do this. Anyone know how to do it please?

I don't know Audacity, but you might need to route your audio through Soundflower to get this working.

I'm not sure exactly what you're trying to do, but if you're looking for recording from applications (such as songs off of YouTube, etc.) you can use Audio Hijack to "record" from applications (basically what would be coming out of your speakers).

http://www.rogueamoeba.com/audiohijack/ and download Audio Hijack Pro. It is shareware, but you can record for 10 minute intervals as many times as you want. So, as long as nothing you record is over 10 minutes long, it's freeware! I've used this for years...
