Hi,

I've been using Audible books for many years with my PC. I don't use an iPod because I do a lot of backpacking and I need to be able to use AAA batteries, so I use a little Creative MuVo instead.

A few days ago I bought a new book and tried to download the Audible Download Manager for Mac. There isn't one, though, and it says that all files will simply go straight into iTunes.

The problem is that I can't find a way to transfer an Audible file to my non-Mac MP3 player. iTunes doesn't see the Creative, and simply copying/pasting via the Downloads folder in Finder doesn't work as the MP3 player can't see the transferred file. I assume that's something to do with copyright protection. When I downloaded the file to my PC netbook instead, and transferred it that way, there was no problem.

I rang Audible to ask what I was missing, because it seems incredible to me that they would assume that all Mac computer users would be using an iPod. However, it seems that they have no solution. They couldn't give me a way to get the Audible file(s) onto my non-Mac MP3 player from my Macbook Pro.

The assistant I spoke to told me she'd never heard of this issue before, but I also find that incredible. I simply can't be the only Audible user with a Mac laptop who doesn't use a Mac MP3 player. Can anybody please tell me how to get the files onto my MP3 player? I was hoping to use my Macbook for everything eventually, and it's a major faff to have to keep digging out the (slow) netbook in order to be able to listen to Audible files.

Many thanks for any help.
