Audibooks in iTunes 7.4

Does anyone know how to make tracks into an audiobook on itunes (no cd) i tried changing the extensions to .m4b but it still wont go. iTunes 7.4 btw.

I had a challenge with audiobook formatting yesterday. I had to convert it from mp3 to wav then directly to AAC, then m4b. Holy cow.

To my understanding, if you are using a mac you actually need to convert the file, not just change the extension. There's a guide on audiobooks at the top of this forum section that is a sticky. Good luck!
