Hi all, I hope I've put this in the right place, I'm new to this forum...

I'm having problems recording videos for youtube. I'm a musician and I'd like to be able to upload clips, but I can't record video and audio at the same time - there's some weird audio crackling that goes on, and I don't even know where to begin to fix it.

Currently running:

'08ish Macbook Pro
OSX 10.5.8
3gb RAM

Currently I'm using Native Instruments Guitar Rig Kontrol as my audio interface, with my external speakers plugged into the headphone output. I can hear the bass fine in Guitar Rig, and record it fine in Garageband, but as soon as I open a video capture program the audio begins to crackle. It only happens when something is playing - there's no ongoing noise (that I can hear).

All audio does it - songs on iTunes, notification noises etc...the crackle sounds to me like a nasty sample rate problem or overload...

I've tried the capture from both iMovie and VLC Media Player, but they crackle just as much as each other.

Any ideas on a solution? I can't really try it without the Rig Kontrol as that is the only interface I have for my bass...
