Lately when using my stick mic the audio has been dropping. If I move the mic it drops off. Do you think its the mic (sennheiser M46) or the cable? I guess the easiest thing to do is buy another cable. When I bought it at B&H i needed cables so they gave me cables (Pearstone) Is there another brand of cables that is better. Do you think the mic broke?

edit - i plugged my boom mic (sony ECMXM1) it came with NX5U and as i moved around I heard cracking noises, so i'm guessing its the crappy cables B&H sold me. Can anyone recommend good XLR cables. What do they use on broadcast stations?

A lot of places make their own cables ... Canare or Mogami cable is well regarded, as are Neutrik connectors. If you are handy with a soldering iron you can make them yourself.

Pin 1 SHIELD (ground), pin 2 HOT (positive) , pin 3 COLD (negative).

Cheers.
