Is it possible to record audio from logic into live directly? I'm interested in using the guitar and bass channel strips in logic as sound sources to capture loops in live.

Yes, but you need soundflower installed to pass the audio from Logic's output into channels in Live, as Logic doesn't play as a Rewire slave.
