Audio help in iMovie

How do I hear audio in my visual editor, in iMovie 11? I used to, how do I enable it again?

Do you mean as you move the mouse over a clip? Click on the icon next to the audio level bars.

I tried that, but apparently both the project, and the raw footage have to be on.
