Purchased the Steelseries Siberia v2 headset for use in bootcamp when I am gaming and realized that the microphone for my headset is recognized, but will not capture any sound.

I assume the audio in port doesn't work with mics that depend on power from their connection, or?

Should've bought the USB version

Pull the mic cable out half a click and see if it works. I had to do that with my cheap headset for SC2.

The microphone in that headset is not a condenser and does not require external power.

Tried doing it partially in but Windows only sees it connected when it's fully in.

Going to keep them anyways for when I build my gaming rig next year since they're really comfortable and have great sound.

Thanks.

Bummer. I am using my headset in Lion, not in 7, fwiw.
