i was recording on garage band today by plugging my guitar to my comp and wanted to change to using the internal mic, so i went to system pref's, sound, and input... only to find that there is no option for internal mic, only audio input (or whatever its called). so i turned on speech commands, and it was working but still couldnt record with the mic on garage band, so i quit garage band and speech commands. i went back to sound preferences, and this time internal mic showed up, but no audio input. i turned garage band back on, and i can now record through my mic, but not by plugging my guitar to the comp. so im getting irritated that my comp is playing "cat and mouse" with me, so can someone please help!? any and all help will be appreciated!

by the way, ive never had any problems with this before, but i havent used garage band since upgrading to leopard about a year ago or so.
