Ok, My friend has a Sony Digital Movie/Picture camera. They took some video over Christmas, in poor lighting conditions. They gave it to me, to see if I can brighten it a bit.

I imported directly into iMovie, and it went just fine. I can play the movie in iMovie, with no issues. However, as soon as I adjust the brightness, and apply, it loses the audio completely. Not sure what is going on.

Any help is appreciated.

I just re-ran it again, and it still is removing the Audio. When I preview the movie before hand, it works fine. Any other programs I could use to lighten the video?

Can you try this?

Advanced -> Extract Audio
Then adjust the brightness.

It's running right now, will take a bit, but I have a good feeling about it this time :)

I'll let you know once complete.

Thanks
