I have a mid 2012 MBP with 10.11.5 and ever since I reformatted my HD and reinstalled the OS I've had intermittent audio issues while watching videos in the browser or while listening to iTunes. I primarily use Chrome and Opera for browsing and have the same issues using either. I usually have my headphones plugged in while this is happening and when I open the sound in preferences you can see the output options switching from internal speakers to headphones back and forth. The color wheel begins to spin as well and the whole system seems to freeze. I had Boom 2 installed, uninstalled it, restarted and no improvement. I am downloading 10.11.6 right now. Any ideas?? I've done a PRAM reset and no help.
