k, this is a random issue. While listening to headphones on my MBP, I have noticed a low hum when my computer is plugged in. However, when I unplug my computer, it goes away.

And here's the really weird part. When my MBP is plugged in, and I touch any metal part of the computer, the hum goes away. But, if I take my hand off the computer, the hum returns.

Could there be some sort of power leak, grounding issue, or something weird going on with the computer?

Sounds like ground loop issue. Probably will go away if you use the 3 prong power adapter.

I had this issue, but it would hum any time I used the trackpad.

after 3 replacements, I am now typing on a replacement unibody.
I like it.

You got it replaced for that issue?

I took it into apple twice for a fix, and on the third try I called in. They said instead of sending me a replacement they would be sending me a "new" computer with 250gb instead of 200 gb, and 4 gb of ram instead of 2.

Sweet deal seeing as I essentially paid $1550 for an upgraded unibody MBP
