Hi there,
I have a late 2013 27" iMac and into it I have a stereo plugged via the headphones output. For some reason the right channel will become weaker than the left. I've altered zero settings and it's not balance in System Preferences>Audio.
I can fix it by unplugging the 3.5mm jack, letting the iMac play through its internal speakers, then plug the jack back in. Bingo, left and right at the same level. But then after a while, perhaps through different programs using audio, the right drops back to being very weak and low.
Has anyone else had this? Any ideas how to stop this?

Ps. it's also not dust in the port!
