Audio off DVD to CD

I've got a DVD I want to get the audio off of and convert to wav file to be able to edit and put on CD. Possible? Software needed?
Mac Pro, 10.4.11

OK , i've downloaded Mac the ripper but have not a clue how to use this. I've got a DVD in the tray, DVD VIDEO RECORDER open, and this Max the ripper window open. Am I at least on the right track? Anyone tell how to use this?
