About a few hours ago I was looking at educational videos on youtube when my macbook pro crashed. Whenever it crashes I usually press and hold the power button in order to force a shutdown. After turning my laptop back on I noticed that the sound wouldn't work at all, not even for any of my applications (firefox, itunes, etc). I did the headphone jack trick and it still didn't work any wonders for me. Anyone know what the problem is?

Notes:

I use audio hijack pro to enhance my hi definition headphone sound since the headphones I currently use were made with a quiet tone. Usually, there's an In RMS indicator to show the rate of audio output going through my laptop speakers and headphones. I checked the indicator and it's glitched up to where the RMS is at full blast, which is strange.
