audio only in one ear during playback

I recorded a TV on my EyeTV. However, only after recording did I realize that I only had audio in one ear (issue was loose cable). I can play the file just fine-and if I adjust the audio settings in VLC, I do get it in both ears (I believe I have to set it to Left Channel for whatever reason since Stereo does not work). My question is there a way to fix is via software? I just played a bit with iMovie and they had some adjustments but all of them that did end up sending to both ears destroys the audio quality.

Does anyone know of an app that can restore the audio?
