Audio out question

Random thought here,
I usually use a minidisplay to hdmi with my tv on my mbp, would it be possible to have the audio and video going out to my tv with my minidisplay to hdmi and use the 3.5 out with different audio signals? dont know if that makes sense how i worded it. I mean would it be possible to have for example a movie playing on my tv using the hdmi and music from itunes coming out of the headphone jack?

Not as you describe it.

If you want to watch a movie and listen to music at the same time, you'll need a 2nd device. You could use Apple TV to stream the movie via iTunes Home Sharing (then you can play whatever music, etc. you want directly on the MBP). Or you can play the movie on the MBP, and home share music through an iPhone, iPod Touch, or Apple TV.
