Apple TV 4K. First gen. iOS 26.01.

It’s connected to a router via cat 6 cable.

It’s been connected to a Sony Bravia TV 1080p via HDMI cable for the past 5 years.

I download movies, put them on a NAS drive and watch movies on a tv via Owlfiles app on Apple TV 4K.

All streaming apps that I use have no issues with audio sync. Amazon Prime, YouTube, PlutoTv, etc.

If i use VLC app to watch same downloaded videos, there is no issue with audio sync.

I went in to settings of Apple TV device and disabled, turned off; Match Frame Rate. It did worked. But, it stopped working after I Restarted/Rebooted Apple TV 4K.

VLC works well, but I prefer Owelfiles. I did reinstalled the app several times.

Owlfiles website, has no recommendations at this time.

I did google audio sync issue with Apple TV and only found a small hand solutions that had to do with Match Frame Rate. As I said, it did worked, but it stopped working after I rebooted my Apple TV device.

Quick Update.

It seems to be the issue is random, even though the videos are the same exact video format, mp4 or MKV.

One solution that seems to work, is to fast forward the video 10 sec and that syncs the video with audio, most of the time. Its not perfect, there is still at times a I tiny bit out of sync, but its still a huge improvement.

Hopefully the next update of the tv iOS will fix it, or another update of the Owlfiles will resolve the issue.
