Audio Output to Samsun LED TV via MiniDisplay Port / HDMI Problem

Hi,

I've recently purchased a Samsung UE40EH5000 LED TV and connected it to my mid 2011 27" iMac via the mini display port and a HDMI cable. I have the video working perfectly but the sound when my TV is selected in the sound output menu only seems to work for applications such as VLC or iTunes etc.. but doesn't work with streaming video through Chrome or Firefox, BBC Iplayer etc... I was wondering if anybody else had come across a similar problem, maybe its a flash problem and if anybody has found a work around or fix?
