I have searched the forums, but I couldn't get a satisfying thread about my questions yet. Therefore this topic.

My old iPod 3Gen outperforms my new iPod touch 2G in audio quality. I don't know if it is normal or do I have a defect Touch?

So here is mine observation:
iPod 3 Gen:
When it is maxed, it is louder than iPod Touch.
The Bass is fuller even the EQ is turned off.
The Treble is more natural than iPod Touch.
No hissing.

iPod Touch:
Max level is not as loud as iPod 3 Gen.
Treble is boosted; it is crisper yet not as natural as iPod 3 Gen. (EQ is off)
Bass is not as full as iPod 3 Gen. (EQ is off)
No hissing.

In general I am experiencing less natural sound with iPod Touch 2G than mine iPod 3 Gen.
Is it because my ears adapted to my ex iPod through the years and therefore I find the iPod Touch audio quality not satisfying?
Or should I go and try to change my iPod Touch 2G?

ps: I have compared them with a jazz number converted to AAC 256 kbps (VBR).
