I suppose it could be I didn't notice before, but I really think I would have. After 2.1, it sure seems that the sound quality of my voicemail messages is pretty poor, it sounds very digitized and has a sort of digital, ring/artifact to it that actually makes it hard to understand many of the messages.

Voices during regular calls sound fine.

Anyone else have this? Thanks.

Ohmygoodness, I just checked a voicemail and it was extremely quiet and digitized as you say. They must have sacrificed this or made an error in the update - had to turn the ringer to full to hear it.

Strangely enough I have noticed a sound improvement other than that in the ipod and ringer, seems bassier and louder to me, but not the voicemail.

Oh yeah... I definitely noticed this. At first I figured it was just the connection the caller had when they left me a voicemail, but then it happened again... and again... and again.

i thought it was the connection to, but i think its all voicemails. wonder if its better if the person has edge or 3g... hmm
