Hello all! I am new to your forum, and i am also new with Mac computers!

I just got my new Macbook Pro and i am still getting the hang of it so please be patient with me!:)

So, the thing i want to do is : I want to record something to my Mac and then edit it with some software so i can do whatever i want with it.

For example, i open up my browser, go to youtube or whatever, and when the audio from there plays, i press a record button and get an audio file.

I tried to do that with a program i found (audacity) BUT, the internal microphone is on(and i cant find a way to disable it), so it also records external sounds. (even some silly birds singing outside my window :D)

I hope that you understood what i mean and need.

Any help would be appreciated!
Thanks in advance!

Thank you very much!

Now i just have to find it!;)

Thanks again!

I think you can do it in audacity by changing the input to stereo mix or something along those lines, but a lot of people here choose to use the other software recommended above because audacity has a few stability problems with mac.

oh really? audacity has problems? i didnt know that! thanks for the info!

well i tried to do it with audacity before posting but as i told you i couldnt find a way to disable the internal mic so i got external sounds in the audio file i recorded. so, i just gave up trying with it!

Thanks again!:):)

Hi,

I would recommend checking out Editors Keys (link in my signature) They sell the editing keyboards, they're own brand of portable vocal booths, USB Studio Mics and Stands.

They are even doing a package for $399 which includes

-USB Studio Mic with cradle and support
- Portable Vocal Booth reflexion type screen
- Mic Stand, which also can hold the vocal booth
- Editing keyboard set for your choice of editing program

Thanks a lot, but for now i want to keep it simple!

If i advance to the next level of music editing, i'll be sure to visit them!

thanks again!:)
