Audio recording speed in Chrome

I've isolated a strange issue with webcam recordings in Google Chrome. My campus LMS (Canvas) has tools for recording video notes. When I installed Mojave I noticed that it records the audio at a faster rate than the video so the sound and image are not synced. This does not happen in Quicktime but happens in every web-based recording platform I have tried. I don't know enough about this to isolate the problem further but it does not happen when I record in Quicktime. The reason I use Chrome for this is because the site does not work well with Safari.

Update: The new Mojave update released today seems to have fixed the issue.
