Does the G4 iBook have the hardware to create audio recordings? If so, is there a suggested application for doing this? Thanks in advance!

Well, all iBooks have built-in microphones. My brothers iB mic seems okay, but if you want an audio in port, get a griffin iMic.

Also, I use QT Pro and Garagebadn for audio recording on my MacBook.:)

Depending on your level of complexity, iBooks from that era (I also have a 12" / 800MHz G4) had a program pre-installed called SoundStudio that was good for basic things. Garageband will probably work but will probably not be all that great on that Mac.... I use it on my iMac but not on my iBook. You might also look into Audacity.

Okay, thanks guys! I'll give those programs a try. And, yes, it's for very basic audio recordings, so basic software and the iBook's mic should be fine. :)
