Audio skips in podcasts with bluetooth?

This started with 8.0 and has continued into 8.1. If I have any BT audio device connected and play my podcasts (just audio podcasts, tried both MP3 and AAC) I get skips in the audio at random intervals. Has anyone else noticed this? I get this in Apples own podcast app, pocket casts and downcast.

Re-pair the device. Should fix it.
