This might be an obvious question, but I've been running my 2014 Air for years now. I know the Pros (particularly the 16") have better speaker audio quality, and the Air has never been known for its quality speaker system. That said, the Air is still the computer in my price range and preference overall, so while I know the 2020 retina screen will be an obvious improvement over the 2014 1400x900 screen I'm currently using, can I expect the built-in speaker system to significantly sound better on the 2020 Air as well? I expect it to be at least minimally better, but for a laptop that's never won awards for its audio, has the Air speaker system improved greatly since 2014?

The 2020 is better than the 2015 retina 13" MacBook Pro.

I just got mine and literally just tested music - the new Air has better stereo separation and sounds a bit fuller. It's no hi fi audio setup, but I'd rate it as comparable to the 10.5" iPad Pro which blew me away initially for its size, and is a significant step up from a 2015 pro as well.

So yes. It's better (than even a 2015 Pro). By a decent amount.

So unless the 2014 Air has better speakers than the 2015 Pro, I'd say you won't be disappointed.
