What are some of your "go to" audio unit plugins? 64 only. Going through the growing pains right now after upgrading to the nMP and losing a ton of compatibility. Looking for any good keyboard synths.

I'm assuming you mean 64-bit AU soft synths.

Check out ANYTHING from Native Instruments.

My "go to" plugins are not synths, they would be compressors. But if that is what you are looking for here are some I like:

1) A very good piano simulation. It's not sampled it's simulated https://www.pianoteq.com It's a good playable piano that can simulate a grand or even an upright out of tune clunker.

2) Applied Acoustics has a good electric piano simulator

These also make some good synths too. You can download a free demo version

3) have you seen the instruments that are included with Apple's Logic?

Yes, it's good. But saying "buy 300GB of samples" is not answering the question of "which do you use and like?" You are just pointing at a haystack and saying, "There might be a few good needles in that stack"

The trouble is the OP was not to specific. Non-specific questions always get generic answers.

Love Lounge Lizard. Yeah, got the NI stuff. Especially liked battery 2, but absolutely hated any battery after that due to the play in sample that got screwed up with 3. Killer fan of their piano samples.
Fav compressor is still waves, but I haven't got to test out any UAD plugs without a hardware purchase.

Wanted to see also, what effect plugs you're using.

I think an important question to ask here is what did you lose compatiblity with? FYI if you need 32-bit plugins under Logic X you can use 32 Lives. I use it on a daily basis and it works just fine.

My go to plugins:
-NI Komplete + Maschine
-DDMF plugins
-Sonic Charge plugins
-Logic's built-in instruments
-BlueCat FreqAnalyst
-Valhalla Shimmer/Room

BTW, Eventide UltraChannel is free right now. Get it before it's too late. http://www.eventide.com/AudioDivision/Products/PlugIns/UltraChannel.aspx
