Audio volume is very low

My son was playing a movie on Netflix and the sound was very low. He had the netflix volume turned all the way up, the imac system volume all the way up and the Bose Companion speakers all the way up. YouTube was a little better but not greatly so. I plugged an iPhone into the Bose speakers and they played very loudly out of the iPhone.

Any suggestions?

Did you check the Volume settings in "Audio MIDI Setup"?

Does the feedback sound that occurs when you hold the volume up or down key sound about right?

I played around in these settings for a bit and now my volume is great. I can't remember what I did but thanks a bunch!

I did but now I don't need it. The volume is quite loud at about a third of the knob on the Bose speakers.
