Hi!

I am very interested to buy a set of speakers from Audioengine. I will hook these up to my 24'' Imac.

The thing I don't know is; should I buy the A2's or A5's?
Use: 1; Music but I'll use it for movies and gaming as well.

-Is the soundstage of the A5's much better that from the A2's?
-Ho is the balance between low-mid-high range on both(specially the a2's)?
-Are the A5's to big for a desk?

Please help me out here, Thanks!

I'm in the same boat. I'm definitely leaning to the A2's, due to their size. I'll be placing these on a small computer desk in an apartment. Anyone have any comments on the A2's? Are their better ones out there?

macsander, do you have a picture of your desk?

Sure, I already posted it in my original post but I think the imageshack server is out. The link is: http://img184.imageshack.us/my.php?image=dscn1049co6.jpg

Hope it works, do you have a picture of your desk?

Thanks! I'm leaning towards the A5's at the moment, if someone who knows the A5's size could take a look at the picture of my desk and tell me whether it will be in proportion with my desk, would be great!

Audioengine website has the dimensions, just measure out the dimensions on your desk and see what you think.

macsander, that's a nice set up you have there. It looks like you have enough room for the A5's, IMO.

Unfortunately, I don't have a picture of my desk. It's a little bit smaller than yours, so I would probably have to go with the A2's. Although, I might just skip them altogether this year and wait to get the A5's when I'm in my new apartment next year.

Thanks! I'll go for the A5's:D If I hear your story, what I would do is, buy the A5's and if it fits put them on your desk even if it get's a bit cluttered. After that it can only get better when you move to your new appartment. I think these speakers are a long time purchase because they don't age. You can still use them 10 years later so i would go for the best option even if it isn't very comfortable for a few months. Let me know what you decided please! I'll leave a comment when I receive mine in this thread.

Yeah, that's a good point. I'm also thinking about going with the A2's and then selling them to my roommate at the end of the school year. Decisions, decisions.

Either way, I'll do the same and post my thoughts once I make my choice.
