I would like to implement some AR into my apps. I want it to be fairly basic, where someone can use the camera to view different things, and have it pop up with what that is. For example, point the camera at a door and have it pop up with which group meets in that room, who the group leader is, topic of study, etc. What would be the best way to go about getting this started, as I have never tried anything AR before.

study for a couple of months, because you can look for certain things, but your app won't know where exactly you are, to match the door to a certain part of your information (database or so).
Because even if you try to match it to a GPS location, it won't be good enough to test it.
But if you have words on the door, you can try to do it, by recognizing letters.
But can't be sure..
